Magazine & Drum Cleaning & Maintenance

Cleaning your magazines and drums can prevent possible build up and can keep your parts from chemical exposure that may be used in your firearm. Frequency of cleaning depends on how much the product is used, type of chemicals used in the firearm and storage methods.

Magazines & Drums: Polycarbonate Parts

We recommend keeping things simple by using warm water and mild detergents such as dish soap. Let product dry completely before reassembling.

Avoid products such as acetone, solvents, household cleaners, gasoline, thinners and glass cleaners. Using these chemicals may damage the polycarbonate material & will void the warranty.

Although we do recommend keeping your firearm well lubed and clean for the best performance, we do not recommend applying any oils to the magazine or drum.

Springs: It is safe to use WD-40 or rubbing alcohol to clean your spring. We do not recommend products such as CLR, hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, vinegar or solvents as they could compromise the material.

Cleaning tools: Some of our favorite tools to use are a Q-tip, microfiber towel, soft sponge, cotton towel, a clean, thin detailing-type polypropylene scrub brush or a clean bore mop from a gun cleaning kit. Avoid harsh scrubbers such as scouring pads and wire brushes.

Storing your product: It is always best to store your products in a clean dry area. If you live in a location with more humidity, we recommend cleaning a bit more often. You may also put a silica gel desiccant packet with your products to help absorb excess moisture. This is also helpful to do when storing your firearm and ammunition.

Storing your magazine or drum loaded with ammunition is not recommended. This can weaken the spring over time and can contribute to moisture build up.
